A unique opportunity for aspiring and highly motivated elite youth hockey players in our local communities.

[Airdrie, Alberta] - [June 16, 2023] - We are pleased to announce an exciting partnership between Global Sport Academy (Village Sports), Airdrie Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) and the Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee (AEHC), aimed at providing a unique opportunity for aspiring and highly motivated young hockey players in our local communities. The initiative seeks to boost the development of elite-level players by offering cutting-edge coaching, resources, and training opportunities during the competitive hockey season.

This partnership aims to provide players with access to top-level coaching, training, and resources to develop their skills and take their game to the next level. The program is set to commence in September 2023 and will cater to three groups: Male 2009-2010, Male 2011-2013 and Female 2009-2013. Players who participate in the program will have the chance to train and compete in a highly competitive environment, which will help them reach their full potential.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee in this exciting venture,” said Dustin Taylor, Chief Operating Officer at Global Sport Academy (Village Sports). “This program is a testament to the collaborative commitment to supporting young, talented athletes in our local communities and giving them the tools they need to succeed both on and off the ice.”

“We are excited to be working with Global Sport Academy to offer this fantastic opportunity to aspiring hockey players in our community,” says Bob McLean, Chair of the Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee. “This program will provide young players with access to some of the best coaching, resources and training opportunities available, which will help them reach their full potential and achieve their dreams, without having to move away from home to do so.”

The program will be open to both Male and Female athletes and each group receives 30 ice times over the course of the year. Additionally, they will receive a leadership component as well as a few special events over the course of the season. The program commences near the end of September and ends in the middle/end of February.
